Black and purple

I am kind of reluctant to replace the DJ picture:) But life goes on. I am feeling slightly in limbo at the moment, not sure what to do, what to start, how to do it etc. Sigh. It will come to me, I am sure. In the meantime, my niece got her table runner last week for her birthday.
She wanted black and purple, so she got black and purple.

Need I say more? :) Quilting to be done at a later date. Now I am just relishing in the doneness:)

Waves and waves...

I have now finished sewing together all the triangles for the borders of my Baby Jane. Tomorrow starts the nightmare.. eeehhh.... challenge? of sewing it onto the quilt itself.I can already forsee some ripping and resewing... there are some waves on some of those borders. As usual. Why should it be different this time? It seems to follow me through all my quilts:)

Getting there

I have now managed to piece together the main part of my DJ:) Amazing.Next step is to piece the borders. Kind of worried about that, piecing triangles together. However, nothing on this one is supposed to be simple or easy - it is a challenge and a journey.

Holding pots?

I have been busy with life and its fresh hells - but there is always time for creation, one way or the other. So while I do the troublesome task of measuring and making sure every block of my DJ has the right size before I sew them together, I also found time to make my mom some pot holders. Are they called that? In Norwegian they are called 'grytekluter'.I made two pair, and she liked them both. Can't ask for more than that:) I haven't quite figured out how to take good quilt pictures with my new camera. The colours are warmer than this, not bluish at all. My houseguest (who will return to his own home tomorrow... snufs) kept me company by hogging the ironing board. He kept away from the hot iron, smart kitty:)
