Block 4 is done, sans legs... I am not sure I am doing myself a favour by putting the legs on hold... Would it not be fun to have a finished quilt without any birds feet? hehe. No, sooner or later. I am not sure, but I think this is supposed to be a bird of paradise? Since we don't have that kind of birds here, I can't be quite sure.
Other than that, I am trying to finish quilting the Charlestone quilt. My poor friend should have received this for Christmas.... Good things comes to those who wait? Hopefully she will get it for her birthday in July:)

Happy birthday, Norway
I have done something I haven't done for years - I donned my folkdress and went with some friends downtown Oslo to see the parade, and the king and the queen. For those of you that doesn't have folkdresses - I can tell you it involves a lot of work.
Yesterday it was ironing the linnen shirt and polishing all the silver (and try on the darn thing to see if it still fit!). Then this morning getting up at 7 to get dressed and meet up with my friends. It is not easy to get this thing on my yourself, I can tell.

On a roll!
Block no 3! I should be doing other stuff, like quilting some of the UFO's I have lying around, but these 'little' blocks are very addictive!
However, today I have spent my sewing time preparing my folkdress for tomorrows little celebration. It's about three years since I used it last, and it needed ironing and a lot of silverpolish. If I get my head together tomorrow I might even get some pictures taken of it:)
Oh, and tomorrow - it is May 17th. Our national holiday.

Spring out

Onwards....
I have finished my second block, the 15th block in the quilt. And yes, they do look a little 'faceless' and legless:) The beaks will be embroidered on, I think. As for the legs...
well, they are a nightmare. I am not sure how to deal with them. And I can not figure out how the original designer managed them! One thing I do know, they did not have Wikipedia:) I am currently working on the preparation for the ostrich block, and she has given them five claws on each foot! Ostriches have the weirdest feet, for being a bird. They have one very big and one smaller toe on each foot!
I have found a good routine now. I prepare new blocks during the weekends, and then I sew a little each evening, whenever I am in front of the tv. Good plan that works, so far....
